3-Point Shootout Rules
The 3-point Shootout is scheduled for 6:30 PM on Monday night.
Here are the basic rules (subject to change):
1. Contestants register when their team arrives at tournament.
2. No registration allowed after 5:00 PM
3. Registered players must check-in at Tournament Central at 5:50 P.M. or their name will be scratched from the list.
4. Each player will be assigned a particular basket at check-in.
5. When the buzzer sounds, players have 55 seconds to make as many 3-point baskets as they can.
6. Shooter may select up to 3 teammates to rebound for them.
7. Attempts can be from anywhere on the floor beyond the three-point arc.
8. Tournament staff will be assigned to count each successful basket. (Foot on the line is NOT a successful three-pointer)
9. After the first round, players with the 8 highest scores will advance to the Semi-Final Round where 45 seconds will be placed on the clock. All the same rules apply.
10. After the semi final round, the top 2 contestants will advance to the Championship Round, where the time limit is shortened to 35 seconds.
11. In the event of a tie in the Championship Round, all tied players will re-shoot with a 25 second time limit.
12. If still tied after this tie-breaker in the Championship, then the time limit will be reduced by 5 seconds with each additional round.
